Matte Stainless Steel Surface Finish (2B) – Properties and Applications
Matte stainless steel surface finish is ideal for applications that prioritize uniformity and a non-reflective appearance rather than high gloss. Produced with a 2B finish, these steels have a flat, smooth, and slightly reflective matte appearance, offering a simple solution both technically and visually.
Product Description:
Matte stainless steel surface finish, also known as “2B Finish,” is obtained through final rolling, annealing, and pickling processes applied after cold rolling. This process gives the surface a flat, uniform, and non-reflective matte appearance.
It is preferred in applications where functionality is more important than visual appearance. It is especially widely used in environments where light reflection is undesirable. At the same time, it provides an excellent base for subsequent surface treatments such as coating, painting, or bonding.
