For example, this steel is known as Ck75 in Germany, C75S in certain European standards, C75RR in France, and CS80 in the United Kingdom. These alternative designations indicate the wide acceptance and usage of this steel in international engineering and manufacturing applications.

C75S steel typically contains approximately 0.70% – 0.80% carbon. This relatively high carbon content significantly improves the hardenability of the steel. When appropriate heat treatment processes are applied, the material can achieve high hardness, good wear resistance, and strong mechanical strength. For this reason, it is frequently used in the production of springs and components requiring elastic properties.

This steel responds very well to hardening and tempering treatments. The hardening process increases the overall hardness of the structure, while tempering reduces brittleness and provides a more balanced mechanical performance. As a result, it is possible to produce components that are both strong and sufficiently elastic. This characteristic is particularly important for parts subjected to continuous loads or repetitive mechanical movements.

C75S steel is generally produced in sheet, strip, or plate form and is widely recognized among spring steel grades. When used in thin sections, it provides excellent elasticity and spring-back characteristics, making it suitable for both mechanical systems and precision equipment.

Due to its high carbon content, the machinability of C75S steel is more limited compared to low-carbon steels. However, with proper machining techniques it can still be processed through turning, grinding, and other metalworking operations.
